Steve received Wine Spectator magazine’s highest-scoring Sauvignon Blancever – at 93 points and was awarded gold at the Australian andNew Zealand Boutique Wine Show for his Big Barrel Pinot Noir.
Steve Bird Hawke’s Bay Merlot Cabernet 2014
The grapes for this wine were sourced predominantly from the exclusive Gimblett Gravels region of the Hawke's Bay, world renown for its superb Bordeaux-style reds. This wine is packed with concentrated blackcurrant and blackberry flavours lifted by exotic spice and oak notes in support. Ripe, silky tannins bring beautiful texture and structure to the wine. A sensational match with traditional oven roasted Hawke's Bay lamb, infused with fresh garlic and rosemary.
