Typical of many of the world’s greatest wine regions, Gisborne provides a warm, dry climate that is moderated by the nearby ocean’s cool afternoon sea breezes, it is these breezes that preserve the natural acidity and tropical fruit flavours for the region’s distinguished Pinot Gris.   

Here, Steve applauds the sunny region for its exceptional grapes that retain a magnificent flinty, minerality in the wine.  The Steve Bird Pinot Gris holds an intense varietal aroma, where fresh pear and exotic spicy notes are met and appealed to by the senses, ripe fruit flavours are softened by the varietals unique sensuous texture to taste.
